If you are old or frail, or both; beware! A stealth team will check your file. If you have life-threatening problems, they decide who lives and who dies.
By law, they are supposed to consult with patient and family about the process known as Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation or CPR. But they use statistics to decide whether you are “worth” saving or signing the DNACPR note.
If the stats say ‘nix’ then it is thumbs down for you or your nearest and dearest. And there is nothing you can do to stop them.
