In the first instance, we can all agree that Brendan Cox has suffered grievously. His wife, Jo, a Labour MP, was brutally murdered by a deranged man back in 2016, and the agonies of losing a loved one are something with which we  can alympathise. However Mr Cox has made headlines this weekend resulting in him stepping down from several charities and public life, at least in the short term.

It has been a matter of public record for some years now that Cox was forced to stand down from his previous role with the Save the Children charity but the media has chosen to studiously examine why he stepped down. Here’s how it was reported in 2015.

The chief strategist for Save the Children has resigned amid allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” towards women. Brendan Cox, who was a senior adviser to Gordon Brown when he was prime minister, denied the allegations against him but quit in September, prompting complaints that there had not been a proper investigation.

Vague. Just “inappropriate behaviour”. Now, we get the full details.

It is claimed that Mr Cox drunkenly harassed a Save the Children female employee at the charity in London, forcing her against a wall outside a bar, holding her by the throat and telling her: ‘I want to f*** you.’ The incident led to him being forced to leave the charity in 2015.

Astonishingly, one month after Mr Cox left the charity, a senior female US Government official told police Mr Cox had carried out a similar alleged assault on her at Harvard University in America. The woman was unaware of the Save The Children incident at the time.

And then the full picture emerges.

If “everyone” at Westminster and in the media knew that Cox was a sexual predator then why has he been hailed as a latter day Saint? Why have politicians and journalists colluded in creating this false image? Why did they cover up his wickedness? Doesn’t this simply highlight JUST how utterly corrupt the whole political/establishment has become?

During the past few years I have raised the issue of Cox’s departure from Save the Children and have been brow beaten by virtue signallers suggesting that any criticism of Mr Cox is beyond the pale because… he lost his wife. In essence his alleged sexual predation has been cloaked by the murder of his wife. That’s wrong.

Remarkably though, even when the details are now known, some politicians now rally to his side. Here’s Labour MP Lucy Powell.

Here’s Labour MP Jess Philips…

They agree that we must try to understand his actions and that it is a very good thing he is taking responsibility for them. Not a word for his alleged victims. Yet these same Labour MP’s shrieked that Toby Young must stand down from an obscure quango over tweets made many years ago. The hypocrisy is staggering.
