London is increasingly an occupied city. This is manifest in the response of those such as London Mayor Sadiq Khan to the announcement that US President Donald Trump is to be given a State Visit to the UK in June. Let’s consider the facts of the matter;
The president and First Lady Melania Trump will be guests of the Queen and attend a ceremony in Portsmouth to mark 75 years since the D-Day landings. He will also have official talks with the prime minister at Downing Street.
What is a “State Visit”, exactly?
A State visit usually means the Queen and other Members of the Royal Family greet visitors with a ceremonial welcome, which usually takes place on Horse Guards Parade, London. The visiting party is invited to inspect a Guard of Honour before travelling back to the Palace in a carriage procession escorted by a large number of mounted soldiers from the Household Cavalry. The welcome is accompanied by gun salutes fired from Green Park and the Tower of London.
Since becoming President, Trump has shown great friendliness and indeed generosity towards the UK. In respect of Brexit, he has consistently advocated doing a great Free Trade deal with the UK. Contrast that with Obama telling us that we would be “at the back of the queue” in a post-Brexit world. Trump has also offered Theresa May robust advice in how to deal with the EU, as opposed to Obama who wanted the UK to be deeply embedded in it.
So the leader of our greatest ally and the global economic superpower is to be granted this great privilege by our Monarch and how does the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, respond?
He has gone on the record saying that the US President will “face protests” citing the US President’s views on Islam and “the amplification of tweets from racists”
Meanwhile, London Labour MP David Lammy has commented that….
“…the deluded, dishonest, xenophobic, narcissistic, Donald Trump is no friend of Britain. He is not fit to hold public office, let alone worthy of our country’s highest honours and a banquet with the Queen. Theresa May is selling out the UK to a serial liar and a cheat”
Speaking in the House of Commons, standing in for Jeremy Corbyn at PMQs, Emily Thornberry whined that the Trump visit will be a “giant waste of taxpayers money”
Curiously, when Obama was also given a State visit in 2011, Thornberry and Lammy remained mute.
So let’s just call this out for what it is.
The UK political left is triggered by Donald Trump. He shines light into their deep darkness and they just cannot stand it. He laughs at the weakness of the EU, and they hate it. He opposes the globalist order and they cannot abide it. He advocates the Nation State that they are desperate to destroy.
Trump represents everything the Left despise which is why we get this predictable childish tantrum from them.
I welcome President Trump to the UK and trust his visit will be a good one. But London is a fallen city, a magnet for the feral virtue signalling left who will take to the streets to protest and scream abuse at our biggest ally. They don’t do that in MY name. The UK media will amplify these protests, with the BBC leading the pack. They have not forgiven Donald Trump for defeating Hillary Clinton and they seek to use every opportunity to attack the US President.
They also casually overlook the simple fact that Trump comes to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-DAY landings when US forces helped ensure that we all speak English, not German.
America and the UK have bonds forged in blood and sacrifice and they will last longer than the ugly twisted hatred of hard left thugs and their political stooges.
