Labour MP Jo Cox was brutally murdered back in June 2016. Her killer, Thomas Mair, shot her three times and stabbed her. This savage act of violence caused universal condemnation and a determination to ensure that political figures could operate free from the threat of violence.
Fast forward to January 2019 Then Conservative MP Anna Soubry was verbally challenged outside Parliament over her betrayal of Brexit and called “A Nazi”. Police instantly sprung into action and James Goddard was arrested. No verbal abuse allowed, seemingly.
There were howls of outrage when Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn had an egg thrown at him when he was visiting a Mosque back in March 2019. The culprit was arrested.
In May 2019, Tommy Robinson is standing as an Independent candidate in the European Union elections in the North-West. He has been attacked in the street several times, most notably having liquid thrown in his face. The culprit, Danyaal Mahmud, has instantly reverted to playing the victim.
This has been met with something like glee in certain sections of the legacy media. Daily Mirror “journalist” Kevin Maguire tweeted his admiration for Mahmud throwing liquid over Robinson. Had the liquid been acid, would Mr Maguire have also approved? If not, why not? He appears to think that assault is OK against certain people with certain liquids. Conservative MP Johnny Mercer also appeared to find the incident amusing.
It seems that a working-class man from Luton is considered “fair game” by the political and media class.
Robinson has also received credible death threats but Police seem relatively relaxed about this. Here is just one received on Youtube.
Why have there been no arrests?
WHY is it that Tommy Robinson can be assaulted in the street and yet individuals arguing for and carrying out such actions are praised and turned into heroes of the Left?
Are they really saying it is OK to assault and be violent against the politicians they don’t like, whilst at the same time insisting none must so much as shout as those they DO like?
Isn’t this just a sickening double standard? Doesn’t this show that they have no moral values?
If you cannot condemn ALL acts of assault and violence against those seeking political office, then I suggest that YOU are part of the problem. De-humanising any person is repugnant and Tommy Robinson has the absolute right to go about his political campaign (and daily life for that matter) free from fear.
Yet our gutter media and smug middle-class political elite seem quite content to celebrate attacks on his person. If Tommy Robinson was to be murdered, would they still celebrate?
